Yah Mo Wah Bo.

"Yah Mo B There (Jellybean Mix)" - James Ingram & Michael McDonald

Produced by Quincy Jones, this song reached #19 in 1984. Been up to me it would have been number one with a bullet. This song is quintessential 80's. The song earned McDonald (a former Doobie Brother) and Ingram (a former session vocalist) a Grammy award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group. McDonald says the track's original title and chorus was, "Yahweh be there", but they changed it after deciding it was too religious and might affect it's popularity. First line: "Heavenly Father, watching us all". Very clever. No one ever knew. Shh.

I knew someone who worked for the record label, at the time. Apparently, Jellybean (who was hot property at the time) insisted on the label flying him to London, England to remix this...and they did!
