Shock and Awe.

"Shame (Dance Mix)" - The Motels

A top-20 1985 hit for the band led by singer Martha Davis. This was also from the album, "Shock". Davis disbanded the group not long after this to try a solo career. It didn't work out quite the way she wanted it to though. She had a top-10 hit in Australia with, "Don't Tell Me The Time", but the song peaked at #80 here in the US in 1987. Flash-forward 20 years and The Motels are reunited with a new acoustic album of old hits and a new disc promised this year too.

(Back tomorrow with at least 2 more goodies, promise. Sorry there hasn't been more the last few days.)

I just want to shout out LOUD cos I have been secretly wishing for the extended version of this song since it was released in 1985! The stylish video directed by David Fincher gave the song such an edge! It is almost like you have heard my prayers! ARGH!! Thank you soooooo much!

Hello Uncle Mike - I am just wondering if the 12" single of SHAME which you have uploaded also contains the RED MIX? I would be glad if you could upload that as well... :-)

Glad you liked the mix. Happens to be one of my favorites as well. It's one of those I heard on the radio back in the '80's but never owned so I don't have the Red Mix. I got this on another blog (exactly which one escapes me right now). I'll see if I can track this down however because I'd love to hear that version myself.
